Verse-By-Verse Ministry With Heather Darnall
This podcast is a way for people to dive deep into the Christian Bible with me as I read scripture verse-by-verse from various sections and break them down for a better understanding of the context. But moreover, to have a better relationship with Jesus. Additionally, I believe this podcast is a good starting point for anyone new to the Holy Bible, but is still good for anyone who is already well-versed.
Now, please take note that I'm not a scholar. I didn't go to seminary school, I don't have any sort of qualifications that would highlight myself as some kind of guru; I'm simply a seeker for the truth of God. He gives me what I need to make this podcast according to His liking since it's technically His podcast. Therefore, I'm just managing it to the best of my human ability.
But the main reason I started this podcast, is because first off, no one read the Bible to me growing up. Secondly, so often verses are taken out of context and rearranged for our self-will, or even thought as not applicable to us given the length of time that has passed when it was written. And when we do, or think like that by not seeking the full council of God, we're only going to feel lonely, misguided, even deceived.
Thus is why I wanted to take the advice of the apostle Paul when he wrote his letter to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:15) and told him, "do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." Pay attention to that key word there, "rightly." So that being said, hopefully you'll find this podcast helpful and insightful. Moreover, that you're continuously rooted in your faith while marching forward in life having more confidence in the Bible and what it's really saying to us as well as how we can make it applicable in our day-to-day lives.

Covering Our Sin
What a wonderful thing it is to have a Lord who knows that we're sinners and that we can't help it - as in He genuinely understands that our failures are inevitable. But where He draws the line is when we try to cover our sin, more so thinking that God isn't looking and/or will never even notice, while at the same time not thinking that our bad choices have a negative effect on other people as well.
In today's episode, I'm going to talk about the dangers of not coming clean when it comes to our intentional efforts of trying to cover our sin using Joshua 7:10-26 as the main scripture. It's extremely important to remember - and to know - that God is not a God that enjoys punishment. However, He will follow through with it because He is a just God that cannot have any part of sin. So keep in mind that we must understand He punishes the sin, it's just unfortunate that we, or the individual, carried out that sin, thus the sinner must also be punished.
Therefore we can see His continuous warnings as well as encouragement to keep His people - including us - on a path that best reflects His nature in order to maintain a divine relationship. However, be mindful that Old Testament punishment at times was immediate whereas now living according to New Testament standards, our unrepented sin will be punished come His appointed time.
Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding. I encourage anyone to please check and verify as scripture encourages all believers to do so. There may be times where I have misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel led by the Holy Spirit to do so.
